Can leadership and teamwork help overcome a crisis?

What would be essential to do if going to the mountain, an earthquake is produced and get trapped underground with others?

To begin with, in catastrophes what is absolutely complicated is to keep calm.  However, if  a crucial factor appears, which is faith, it could help to save lives.  In these moments we feel sorrow and the eagerness to escape but it is our capacity that make us not to lose our spirit and keep fighting to survive.  Naturally, the communication with some who are in the same situation helps to not be numb and prevent us from a psychological illness that could be originated.
Secondly, due to the loneliness which might be felt by the horrible moment, it would not be strange if the will to live is lost and, for instance, a person commits suicide.  Consequently, is crucial to be united with the rest of the group, because it could contribute to maintaining clever faculties and not to lose hopes.
Last but not least, it could happen that an individual member seems to persevere, a good listener, optimistic, he assumes the figure of a leader and make the rest react properly in the misery.  The relationship between leader and team members will work if in there intervene factors, such as solidarity and obedience.
If the way to escape is found, particularly, the work of all could cooperate to their rescue.  Needless to say, that both figures need to complement to succeed in an extreme situation.
The leader would be who take the decisions, give orders and waits for the others to be respected and obeyed.
For all above mentioned reasons, had we been alone in a catastrophe, it would be a challenge to survive. It is believed that if a person is forlorn in such a difficult moment is more prone to pass away than groups of people in the same situation.
As far as I am concerned, the cooperation and persistence to not succumb contributes to overcome misfortune and keep individuals alive.

One day

Dexter's interview

It was written and published 17 years ago... ( Note this is an interview in the Hungarian version of the German newspaper BRAVO. This was made around the summer of ’95 when Noodles just had his cut bald, and Self Esteem, was a No.1 hit all over the world.) 1) Bravo: You don't like cigarette smoke? Dexter: I hate it!!! I fight a lot about this with the others. Cigarette smoke smells terrible and ruins your vocal cords. I used smoke in high school, but only because it was prohibited. But I got off it years ago. 2) Bravo: And what do you think about alcohol and drugs? Dexter: We all used to drink more, but since we're on tour I hardly drink any alcohol - maybe a beer. But we're never drunk. I couldn't produce 100% on stage, with alcohol . I have nothing to say about drugs, I'd be better off dead, than to ever use drugs. I watched two of my best friends literally burn their minds to scum, with cocaine and heroin. In the end they couldn't even speak no...
